My Approach

BE ABOVE

This motto can be taken lots of different ways. However it motivates you, however you see it fit in your life, that's how I want you to use it. You can tell yourself to be above average, to be above who you were yesterday, etc. But I'd like to take a minute to talk about the most important application of this saying in my opinion. When I first began to follow fitness influencers on social media and see what the fitness industry said about how you should look and train, I got this idea in my head of what fitness was about. Many times, the industry promoted striving for this ideal image. If you didn't fit that image, you were deemed not good enough or insufficient compared to others. I soon realized how unhealthy of a mindset that was, because no matter what you do, no matter what physique or image you have, you'll always nit pick at yourself and find some insufficiency. What I want to spread is the message to BE ABOVE all of that. You are not defined by a number on the scale or a measurement around your waist. You are not defined by proportions, size, or any expectations that this society or the fitness industry may have. You cannot let anyone tell you what you should look like, what your physique goals should be, or why you should train to achieve a certain aesthetic image. Be above that. Be above the standards. Be above the expectations. Be above the aesthetic. Learn to love where you are and love where you're going. See exercise as a celebration of what your body can do, not as a punishment for what you ate or a burden to look a certain way. Train to realize your strength. Train to feel accomplished. Train to keep your body healthy. Train because YOU want to, not because of the opinion of somebody else. Learn this mindset. Translate it to your daily life. Be above society's standards. Do what you want to do because it makes YOU happy, not because society says it should. Be above the noise of this world. Just BE ABOVE.
